The St. Anne’s Jewish Community is one of only 6 small Jewish communities in the UK to have been selected to be part of a World War 2 Heritage Project by the Jewish Small Communities Network in conjunction with Swansea University and funded by the lottery.
Hilary Thomas is the historian compiling the St. Anne’s wartime experience, with particular interest in evacuees to the area.
“I have a query re Aishel Court hotel. It seemed to play a big part in the life of the Jewish community between 1928 and 1960..I believe the building is still there.
Do you know what it is used for today? Do you know much about it in its heyday.”

I remember Aishell court hotel. I believe it is a block of flats now.
Hilary Thomas says : “The Barnard family were very involved with the shul during the time they lived in the town . Mrs Barnard’s father, Aaron Finestone was President in the 1930’s”
