Lytham St Annes has been named the happiest place to live in Lancashire.
The coastal town claimed the top spot in the county in a poll ranking the UK’s 75 happiest places to live.
Carried out by online retailer Furniturebox, the survey gathered responses from 5,000 people across the UK.
It considered factors such as natural beauty, green spaces, school quality, and access to pubs, restaurants, independent shops, and cultural attractions.
A spokesman for Furniturebox said: “Lytham St Annes is the happiest place to live in Lancashire.
“Most of the locations in the top 75 are not the most affluent in their localities and have access to some affordable housing including Lytham St Annes which is very popular with families.
Following Lytham St Annes, Chorley was ranked the second-happiest place in Lancashire, with Clitheroe third, Preston fourth, and Croston fifth.
Known for its Victorian charm, Lytham St Annes features attractive parks, well-regarded schools, and the renowned Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club.
Top schools in the area include Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School, Saint Bede’s Catholic High School, and Armfield Academy.
The town has also been a filming location for the BBC drama World on Fire and the 2005 mini-series Casanova.
